Final Book Project

For my final project I decided to take portraits of strangers and ask them a short interview question. My question for these strangers was, "What is something that you would want the world to know about you?" However, some individuals did not feel super comfortable with the version of the questions so I would switch it up just slightly so they would feel comfortable with participating. The alternative question was, "What is one bit of advice or insight you would want to give the world?" I am glad that I gave people the option to simply give advice because some people do not like being as open and I wanted them to feel comfortable so that their photo looked natural. I also told my subjects that they could smile or they could have a straight face. My goal was to just have them act like themselves and present themselves in the way that they felt most comfortable and natural. Most people did smile, but I felt it was important to mention that they didn't have to because it would make them feel more comfortable and I could get a more genuine photograph.
